Larry Borenstein took to recording the great bands of New Orleans as the major labels were not interested. In the process he created a remarkable archive of previously unreleased material recorded at the Associated Artists Studio which was eventually to become Preservation Hall.
The full personnel for tracks 1-9 are are Lawrence 'Sam' Rankins guitar and vocals, Harrison Verrett banjo and vocals, Noon Johnson bazooka.
Tracks 10-14 feature Creole George Guesnon banjo and vocals, plus Rankins, Valentine and Johnson.
Tracks 15-23 see Lemon Nash on ukulele and vocals.
