The Crane River Jazz Band Live at the 100 Club 1976

The Crane River Jazz Band Live at the 100 Club 1976
CD / Product Number: DJCD004

The Crane River Jazz Band was formed in 1949 by a group of young musicians who with guidance from Ken Colyer and his brother Bill, had found their inspiration in the recordings made in the 1940s by Bunk Johnson, George Lewis, Kid Rena and Kid Ory. After Ken Colyer left in 1951 to join the Christie Brothers Stompers, the band continued with Sonny Morris as leader until 1957 when it disbanded. In 1972 the band got together again to play occasional concerts and make some recordings and broadcasts.....of which this is one!
