Chris Barber 1959-1960 - Double CD
The Trad Boom is taking off and in 1959 Chris Barber had few serious rivals. The collection includes the first LP made under Denis Preston's Lansdowne Jazz Series by the Barber band. It also features three EPs one each featuring Monty Sunshine, Pat Halcox and Ottilie Patterson. Also included are three tracks Chris Barber made in New York with the surviving members of Clarence Williams's band for the 1920s. There some previously unreleased tracks plus four from a concert in Detroit.
