BYE and BYE - Chief John Brunious and his Mahogany Hall Stompers

BYE and BYE - Chief John Brunious and his Mahogany Hall Stompers
CD / Product Number: 504CD13

Chief John Brunious formed his Mahogany Hall Stompers in New Orleans during the middle period of 1964. This was a working band and performed regularly throughout 1964 at the 'Jazz on a Summer Afternoon' series of concert organised by the New Orleans Jazz Club at the Royal Orleans Hotel. The master tape for this CD was purchased by 504 Records from the Chief's son, Wendell, himself a fine trumpeter player. Enjoy the music of this fine band!
The full personnel here are: John 'Pickey' Brunious - trumpet and leader, Eddie Noble King - trombone, Paul 'Polo' Barnes - clarinet and vocal, Lester Santiago - piano, Charles Easley - string bass, Emile Maurice - drums, Wendell Brunious - vocal track 4. It was originally recorded New Orleans 18th October 1964. Some uneveness in sound quality could not be eliminated from the original master tape.
