LIVE in Denmark 1995 - Tuba Fats and Linda Young

LIVE in Denmark 1995 - Tuba Fats and Linda Young
CD / Product Number: JCCD3122

Tuba Fats was an elegant, swinging player with a fantastic ear, and at times his playing could be as elegant as a ballet dancer. On the session here he was very much in charge, including his own choice of tunes. Also featured is his late wife Linda Young who was a blues 'shouter', very effective on these sides. Happy memories of a jazz giant, 16 tracks were recorded in Denmark in 1995, with the bonus track recorded in New Orleans later that year.
Full personnel here are Tuba Fats tuba/vocal, Linda Young vocal, Soren Sorensen, Soren Bryder, Leif Madsen reeds, Hans Petersen, Rickie Monies piano, Henrik Stiigvad banjo, Milton and Ruby Batiste spoken vocal, Freddy Lonzo trombone, Leroy 'Boogie' Breaux snare drum

Reviews of This Recording

This is a great record - well worth re-releasing. Tuba Fats output was not that great that you could afford to miss it if you don't already have it. Andrew Liddle

Tuba Fats is a very elegant, swinging player. The recorded sound of this album is exemplary....all-in-all this is a very enjoyable memorial to a fine musician. Alan Musson - The Jazz Rag
