CLASSICAL COCKNEY - Brahms 'n' Liszt

CLASSICAL COCKNEY - Brahms 'n' Liszt
CD / Product Number: URCD109

This is the first commercial recording of Brahms 'n' Liszt, a two man band that has been making a living playing cockney music in London and throughout the UK for many years. The songs reflect the band's roots in traditional cockney music, and also shows the innate musicianship of band founder Chris Franklin, and his ability to cross musical boundaries. The recording consists mainly of original songs by Chris Franklin, although there are one or two well-loved Cockney numbers as well!
The title of the album comes from the many classical references in Chris' songs - Miss Tu-Tu is an instrumental with features the music of Tchaikovsky while Music begins with a few bars of Beethoven. China Ship features the music of Grieg and Henry VIII combines a cockney favourite with the traditional folk song Greensleeves. If you like Chas and Dave then give this a try!
