KEN COLYER IN NEW ORLEANS - The Complete 1953 Recordings

KEN COLYER IN NEW ORLEANS - The Complete 1953 Recordings
£12.99
CD / Product Number: 504CD53

These tunes were recorded at Clarinettist Emile Barnes' house in La Harpe Street New Orleans in February 1953. Albert Glenny played bass at the first session - aged 88! - but was replaced for the second by the (then)young George Fournier. Ken's enthusiasm and ability are without question and as he expected, the New Orleans musicians in particular are superb. This is a very interesting collection for Colyer fans everywhere!
The full band personnel were KEN COLYER, cornet and vocals, HARRISON BRAZLEE, trombone, EMILE BARNES, clarinet, BILL HUNTINGDON, banjo, ALBERT GLENNY (tracks 1-7) or GEORGE FORTIER (tracks 8-24) string bass and ALBERT GILES, drums
