Freddy Randall led one of the best British traditional Jazz bands. Basing his band on the driving Chicago style of Jazz - personified by the Eddie Condon bands in the USA - it was one of the first of the revivalist bands of the late 1940s to get a recording contract with a major record label, Parlophone.
