Freddy Randall led one of the best British traditional Jazz bands. Basing his band on the driving Chicago style of Jazz - personified by the Eddie Condon bands in the USA - it was one of the first of the revivalist bands of the late 1940s to get a recording contract with a major record label, Parlophone.
Various personnel including: Frdedy Randall: trumpet, Bruce Turner/Cliff Townsend/Bernard Stantson: clarinet, Eddie Harvey/Geoff Love/Geoff Sowden/Norman Cave/Harry Brown: trombone, Denny Wright/Vic Lewis/Don Cooper: guitar, Dill Jones/Al Mead/Ted Palmer/Stan Butcher: piano, Danny Haggerty/Hank Hobson/Ted Palmer: bass, Lennie Hastings/Max Abrams/Harry Miller: drums
