A CLUB SESSION with BOB WALLIS and his STORYVILLE JAZZMEN - DOUBLE CD

A CLUB SESSION with BOB WALLIS and his STORYVILLE JAZZMEN - DOUBLE CD
£12.99
CD / Product Number: LACD326

Another in the series of recordings made by Allan Gilmour at the Dancing Slipper Jazz Club in Nottingham. The Storyville Jazzmen were at the very commercial end of the Trad Jazz period and these recordings are quite a revelation in that they show the band away from the concert stage and in a Jazz club.
Personnel are Bob Wallis trumpet and vocals, Keith 'Avo' Avison trombone, Al Gay clarinet, soprano and tenor saxes, Pete Gresham piano, Hugh Rainey banjo and guitar, Brian 'Drag' Kirkby double bass and Alan Poston drums. On disc two Gerry Williams clarinet replaces Al Gay.
