PAT HAWES and SARAH SPENCER Live at The Bull at Barnes 1996
On this session there are some excellent British musicians, including the first lady of British Jazz, Annie Hawkins on string bass. Pat Hawes and Dave Brennan were in The International Jazz Band, and Pat of course was in the Original Crane River Jazz Band. Ken Pye always bring back happy memories of Kid Thomas when I hear him play, while Paul Munnery recalls the style of the great Harlem player. So here is some really good British jazz played the only way the Best of the Brits can play. Enjoy!
The full personnel are PAT HAWES piano, FRANK BROOKER clarinet and tenor sax, KEN PYE trumpet, PAUL MUNNERY trombone, SARAH SPENCER sax, DAVE BRENNAN banjo, ANNIE HAWKINS string bass and DION COCHRANE drums.
