I AIN'T GONNA PLAY NO SECOND FIDDLE - Perry Bradford

I AIN'T GONNA PLAY NO SECOND FIDDLE - Perry Bradford
£12.99
CD / Product Number: DGF56

In the annals of Jazz, Perry Bradford is remembered as the man who started the 'Blues Craze' which swept the USA in 1920 following the release on Okeh of two compositions - Crazy Blues and It's Right Here For You sung by Mamie Smith - the first black songs performed by a black singer fronting a black band and recorded by a white company. All his other achievements as impressario, pianist, songwriter, publisher and musical director have faded into the background. Sales in the first sixt months exceeded one million copies, and astounding achievement! Here is a good cross section of the work of Perry Bradford, presenting him in many settings and giving the listener a true impression of this pioneering musician.
25 tracks of Perry Bradford with a variety of great bands - see track listing for full details.
