A SATCHEL FULL OF SATCH - Louis Armstrong

A SATCHEL FULL OF SATCH - Louis Armstrong
£12.99
CD / Product Number: JCCD3069

This CD features three exceptional rare sessions by Louis Armstrong. The man was jazz. Indeed the man is jazz. He is the most famous jazz musician who ever lived. He transcended from jazz to popular mainstream music. So it's nice to hear music from the great man that you won't have heard before, as these sides have not been released commercially until now.
There is a session from the 30s and this is a marvellous airshot featurng an incredible all-star band feeaturing Louis and Fats Waller together for their only live collaboration. Joining them are Jack Teagarden, Bud Freeman, Al Casey, Red Callendar and Slick Jones!
The second session is from the 40s and is a live performance from the Nice Jazz Festival by the original Armstrong All-Stars.
The third session is from the 50s and was performed at New York's famous Basin Street East Nightclub where the band was having a fabulous night and the music swings like holy hell!
Personnel include Louis Armstrong - Jack Teagarden - Trummy Young - Barney Bigard - Edmond Hall - Bud Freeman - Fats Waller - Earl Hines - Billy Kyle - Red Callendar - Arvell Shaw - Al Casey - Slick Jones - Sidney Catlett - Barrett Deems - Velma Middleton.
